Pulmonary medicine relates to care of the lungs and respiratory system. We provide specialized care for patients with all types of lung disease, on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.

We have pulmonologists, or physicians who specialize in pulmonary care, on staff.

We also have a respiratory therapy program available to serve patients who are in the hospital, and those who may need care or therapy in their day-to-day lives. Respiratory therapists work to evaluate, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders. Those people include patients with chronic lung problems such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema, but they also include heart attack and accident victims; premature infants; and people with cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, or AIDS.

Our staff can also perform pulmonary function testing to assess lung capacity and status, to give the treating pulmonologist all the information they need to care for the patient.
