LRGHealthcare is pleased to offer digital mammography— the gold standard in mammography technology. According to the National Cancer Institute, digital mammography can improve detection in women who are under the age of 50, those who have dense breast tissue, and women who have not yet entered menopause.

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography)

A screening mammogram is a radiologic procedure furnished to patients without signs or symptoms of breast disease, for the purpose of early detection of breast cancer, and includes a physician’s interpretation of the results of the procedure.

A diagnostic mammogram is a radiologic procedure furnished to patients with signs and symptoms of breast disease, for the purpose of early detection of breast cancer, and include a physician’s interpretation of the results of the procedure.

Mammography Breast Localization

Biopsy for breast cancer diagnosis. This type of biopsy is performed when you have an abnormality seen on a mammogram. Your primary care provider will refer you to a breast surgeon for consultation prior to breast localization biopsy.

When should you have a mammogram?

American College of Radiology recommends annual screening at the age of 40. To schedule your mammogram, or for more information, call 527-2992.

How to prepare for your mammogram

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to check in.
  • Please do not use any deodorant, powder or perfume the day of your exam.
  • Limit caffeine intake two weeks prior to your mammogram.
  • If you had prior mammograms at another facility, please arrange to have them sent to LRGHealthcare or bring them with you.
  • If you need to schedule an appointment or reschedule your appointment, call 603-527-2992

Results

  • Once the exam is completed, a certified Radiologist will review the study and dictate the final report.
  • This report will be sent to the healthcare provider who ordered your exam.
  • On occasion, the Radiologist may request Additional Mammographic or Ultrasound Breast imaging, at a short-term interval, to evaluate the breast tissue in more detail.
  • Results are available through the Patient Portal.  You may enroll in the patient portal at time of check-in.
  • We recommend you follow-up with your healthcare provider to discuss the results.
