Giving to LRGHealthcare
There is no greater investment you can make than in the health and welfare of yourself and your family. Every gift makes a difference, helping LRGHealthcare provide quality care, state-of-the art technology, wellness programs and charitable care.
The links below provide an overview of some of the ways you can support LRGHealthcare. For more information, please contact the Office of Philanthropy at 737-1042 or email@example.com.
On a daily basis we receive praise from our patients and their loved ones about those at LRGHealthcare who have touched their lives. We receive notes and phone calls acknowledging and thanking physicians, nurses and other employees. At times the patients deliver trays of cookies to a unit or make charitable gifts. Sometimes we receive suggestions for improvement, and we welcome those as well!
We all remind ourselves from time to time how fortunate we are to live, work, and play in one of the most beautiful areas of New England. It’s important to also remind ourselves how fortunate we are to know that quality, compassionate care is right around the corner when we need it most.
Gifts received through our Grateful Patient Program pay tribute to the caregivers who went above and beyond in their care of a patient, while also helping to provide essential resources to LRGHealthcare, enabling us to continue to provide the best care to you, your family and friends, and our community.
Bridge to Recovery Walk – June 2, 2019 – Franklin Reg’l Hospital

When words are not enough to express your sentiments, we invite you to share your feelings through an honorary or memorial gift.
Your gift to LRGHealthcare in honor or memory of someone special, be it a friend, family member, nurse or provider, will help us to provide the very best healthcare to all in our community.
Whether it is sorrow at the loss of a loved one, joy at the birth of a new baby, or appreciation for kindness received, honor and memorial gifts are always appreciated.
Your gift in tribute or memorial will be acknowledged to you and to your intended recipient or family.
Tree of Hope
The Tree of Hope honors cancer survivors and memorializes those who have lost their battle with cancer. It is proudly displayed in the Oncology department at Lakes Region General Hospital.
For a donation of $50 or more, you are invited to inscribe the name of the person that you would like to honor or remember. Money donated for the Tree of Hope helps to continue providing cutting-edge cancer care to our community.

Creating a Legacy
A planned gift to LRGHealthcare in your will not only benefits the hospital and the quality of healthcare provided to our community, but it may also support your personal estate tax and financial goals. Planned gifts of the past have helped to create our strength of today and your gift of tomorrow will do the same for future generations.
A gift by will to LRGHealthcare offers estate tax savings and creates a living legacy to ensure a stable future for LRGHealthcare and the health of the community. Donors may make a gift of specific assets, of a portion of their estate or of their residual estate after payment of other bequests. Bequests are entirely free from federal estate tax and therefore offer substantial estate tax savings.
Donors may make LRGHealthcare the owner and beneficiary of life insurance policies. An existing policy yields a current charitable income tax deduction approximately equal to the cash surrender value. A paid-up policy yields a charitable income tax deduction approximately equal to the policy’s replacement value. (The exact figure is available from the issuing company.) Whether it’s a new policy or an existing contract, donors continue to pay the premiums and take a charitable deduction for each additional premium payment.
Retirement or Pension Plans
These plans are treated as income to the beneficiaries when received and can result in a significant tax. No estate tax or income tax is owed on these plans by naming LRGHealthcare as the beneficiary of a retirement or pension plan.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
Charitable Remainder Trusts pay either a fixed percentage of the value of the trust (unitrust) or a fixed payment (annuity trust) annually for the life or a term of years. Cash, appreciated securities, real estate and other assets can be contributed to these trusts.
Charitable Lead Trusts
A Charitable Lead Trust pays a current stream of income to the charity for a lifetime or a set number of years which then reverts to the grantor of the trust or the grantor’s heirs. This payment can be set up as a percentage of the value of the trust or a fixed payment annually for life or a term of years. The trust can help reduce gift and estate taxes.
Appreciated stock, bonds or mutual fund shares are a popular way to support the programs and services of LRGHealthcare, while providing tax advantages to you.
If you choose to donate stocks to LRGHealthcare, please know that the value of the gift (for tax purposes) is based on the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Because of capital gains considerations, it is more beneficial to you to transfer appreciated securities directly to LRGHealthcare rather than sell them and donate the proceeds. Securities are sold by LRGHealthcare upon receipt.

LRGH COVID-19 RESPONSE FUND
We know these are difficult, and even scary times for you. The world is facing an unprecedented challenge with communities and economies everywhere affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Our community is coming together to help us combat the COVID-19 pandemic bringing much needed supplies to help us respond to this outbreak. The outpouring of support has been amazing.
As you are aware, we have undertaken steps to put us in a position to fight this pandemic, including suspending non-emergent surgeries and services in order to open up hospital beds in anticipation of a surge of critically ill patients. All these steps have led to a 54% decrease in our revenue stream. Your help is important as we move forward, caring for our community’s traumatic and emergent illnesses in addition to COVID-19.
Donations received can go towards funding:
• COVID-19 Operations which include buying essential supplies such as masks, gloves and protective wear for frontline workers
• COVID-19 Employee Assistance Fund which will help ensure employees get the assistance they need until they are back at work
Your donation is greatly appreciated in our effort to respond to COVID-19, especially when the needs are greatest and resources are lowest. Thank you.
