Community Education Programs

Concord Hospital – Laconia’s Healthy Living – Community Education programs help to keep you and your family healthy.

Below is a list of upcoming programs on a variety of health topics including important women’s health issues, injury prevention, smoking cessation and nutrition and physical activity opportunities for all ages.

Heartsaver CPR

We provide the skills testing session of the AHA (American Hospital Association) online CPR program with a certified American Heart Association CPR instructor.  Please call 524-3211 ext. 3418 to schedule your skills testing session or to find out more about the online CPR certification process.

Breast Cancer and Beyond Support Program

Support Program Social gathering for any women who have been affected by breast cancer. The first Monday of each month, in the Tanger Suite – Concord Hospital – Laconia Women’s Imaging and Breast Health Services from 4:30-6:00 pm. Call 527-2940 for more information or to sign up.

Let No Woman Be Overlooked: Breast & Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP)

Free breast and cervical cancer screenings are available for women ages 21-64 who meet certain guidelines. Call 603.527.2992 or email BreastHealth@lrgh.org for more information.

Mammography Bridge Program

If you do not have health insurance or have a high deductible, funds may be available to help cover the cost of a mammogram. Call 603.527.2992 or email BreastHealth@lrgh.org for more information.

Breastfeeding Support Group

Breastfeeding Support Group is offered postpartum, every Wednesday and there is no cost or registration required.  For more information and time, please call Caring for Kids at 528-0995.

Car Seat Safety Checks

Diabetes Self-Management Education

  • Individual appointments available with a registered dietician.  527-2946

Heart Health: Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

Designed for people who have heart disease and are recuperating from an acute event such as, a heart attack, coronary bypass surgery or balloon (stent) surgery. The program includes goal-oriented supervised exercise, education for self-management of heart disease, and support to make healthy lifestyle changes. Call 527-2810 for more information.

Lung Health: Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program 

Designed for people who have lung disaese. It is a supervised exercise and education program that meets three times per week. Call 527-2810 for more information.

Advance Directives

Care Managers available to answer questions and offer assistance in completing Advance Directives. Free. Call 527-2862 for more information.

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy, provided by board certified therapists at our rehabilitation facilities in Franklin, Meredith and Gilford. Call 524-2852 for fee information, and to make an appointment.

Weekly Weight In brought to you by the Weight Institute of New Hampshire (WINH)

Find the support you need while learning about different nutrition topics each week to optimize your weight loss. To begin this program, participants must meet with a registered dietitian for a one-time consultation to design your individualized meal plan. Optifast Liquid Meal Replacement

Medically supervised weight loss program that utilizes full or partial meal replacement that transitions into every day meal preparation, in conjunction with education and support. Call 527-2946 for more info and cost.

Bariatric (Weight Loss Surgery) Information Session 

If you’re considering weight loss surgery, the Weight Institute of New Hampshire offers FREE information sessions the second Tuesday of every month, 6:00-7:00 pm at Lakes Region General Hospital.  Visit WINH for dates and times. Call 527-2946 to register.

Nutrition Counseling

Individual counseling with a registered dietitian to learn about disease-specific nutrition therapy, weight loss, and healthy eating. Call 527-2946 for more information.

Medication Assisted Weight Loss

A comprehensive program that combines lifestyle changes with the assistance of medication to promote weight loss.

Are You Ready to Stop Smoking?

One-on-one quit smoking education and coaching. We want to help you develop a personalized plan to quit smoking. In this FREE session, we will discuss your tobacco use, past attempts to quit and your readiness to quit. Call 527-2948 for more information.

Back Safety

Program designed to instruct individuals in safe lifting and proper body mechanics. Program can be done on-site and geared towards specific work demands.

Work Place Fitness

Rehab specialists available to assist companies in developing a specialized exercise and fitness program for employees.
Designed to meet job specific needs in the prevention of muscular-skeletal complaints and repetitive motion injuries. Call 524-2852 for more information.

Computer Fitness
